CARBON FOOTPRINT OVERTIME
SINGLE-USE PLASTICS vs. URBAG
This table shows the accumulative carbon footprint over 14 years.
Choosing single-use plastic garment bags means continuously using new energy and resources while generating waste year after year. However, by switching to URBAG, the accumulative impact is drastically lower over the same period.
By reusing our URBAG, the only emissions you generate come from occasional cold washing and minimal water usage for cleaning, making URBAG the far more sustainable choice. 🌱♻️
How We Calculated the Carbon Footprint
To ensure accuracy, the carbon footprint of URBAG includes:
✅ Scope 1: Direct emissions from manufacturing and transportation.
✅ Scope 2: Indirect emissions from purchased energy used in production.
✅ Scope 3: Emissions from the entire supply chain, transportation to the end customer, and washing over its lifetime.
📌 Assumption: This calculation is based on an average customer bringing 5 shirts + 1 suit per week, for 46 weeks per year, to their local laundry service.
By considering the full lifecycle, our calculations give a realistic and transparent measure of URBAG’s environmental impact. 🌿
URBAG CARBON FOOTPRINT
The production and the delivery of each URBAG generate 10.32 Kg CO2*.
At Loop Lab, we’ve done our best to reduce our impact at every stage—from sourcing materials as close to our manufacturing site as possible to working with ethical suppliers and a traceable supply chain.
We calculated our carbon footprint by considering Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, ensuring that everything from raw materials and production to transportation and final delivery to customers is accounted for.
As a micro-enterprise, we are constantly working to improve and reduce our footprint further.
In the meantime, we are investing in certified projects that help restore our local environment, benefiting both our community and the planet. 🌿🌍
*This includes the carbon footprint of the entire supply chain, from surcing to delivery to the customer.

We compensate our unavoidable carbon emissions by investing in restoring projects in the UK to develop wildflowers, wetlands and wildlife.
This helps:
1- keep carbon locked away in healthy ecosystems
2- support biodiversity in the UK
3- support native plants and animals, including pollinators and some of the UK’s most recognisable animals in ancient woodlands, such as red squirrels.
